how to access serial console on Linux with zmodem/xmodem/ymodem

1- Find out the serial port, the serial can be /dev/ttyS0 (serial port) or /dev/ttyUSB0 (usb to serial cable)
root@localhost# tail -f /var/log/syslog
Sep 25 15:27:54 kernel: [27033.066084] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial
Sep 25 15:27:54 kernel: [27033.066100] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial_generic
Sep 25 15:27:54 kernel: [27033.066109] usbserial: USB Serial support registered for generic
Sep 25 15:27:54 kernel: [27033.067916] usbcore: registered new interface driver pl2303
Sep 25 15:27:54 kernel: [27033.067925] usbserial: USB Serial support registered for pl2303
Sep 25 15:27:54 kernel: [27033.067937] pl2303 3-2:1.0: pl2303 converter detected
Sep 25 15:27:54 kernel: [27033.068484] usb 3-2: pl2303 converter now attached to ttyUSB0



 -- this show the serial is map to /dev/ttyUSB0


2- to access the port using Command line interface, CLI
+ putty: choose serial and change serial line and speed, display as below:


+ screen:
root@localhost# screen /dev/ttyUSB0 9600

3- GUI
+ cutecom
root@localhost# apt-get install cutecom
root@localhost# cutecom


4- for zmodem/xmodem/ymodem use lrzsz
root@localhost# apt-get install lrzsz

after install you can use the command rx, rz, sx, sz  to transfer using command, or you use GUI, cutecom, the xmodem, zmodem, it work automatically as shown below
