create your own font

1- install fontforge
$ sudo apt-get intall fontforge


2- copy a sample font for editing.
$ cp /usr/share/fonts/truetype/liberation/LiberationSans-Regular.ttf .

3- open the sample font with fontforge and edit as you like


4- update font info

"Element" --> "font info"
on PS Names, update

fontname:
Family name
name for humans

5- generate the truetype font

file --> generate font

--> choose TrueType
then
generate --> generate


6- copy the new font to either the following location
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/
~/.local/share/fonts


font view with gnome-font-viewer
