monitor linux performance using ganglia

*** info
host1 ip: 192.168.58.22
host2 ip: 192.168.58.75

multicast ip: 239.2.11.71


1- on host 2 install the packages below

$ sudo apt-get  install ganglia-monitor ganglia-monitor-python gmetad

2- on host 1 install the packages below
$ sudo apt-get install ganglia*


3- we use host 1 as the web frontend so link the ganglia apache configuration to apache2 configuration directory
$ sudo ln -s /etc/ganglia-webfrontend/apache.conf  /etc/apache2/conf-enabled/ganglia.conf

-restart apacphe2
$ sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

4- on host1 add multicast add and static router
$ sudo ip maddr 239.2.11.71 dev eth0
$ sudo ip route  add 239.2.11.71 via 192.168.58.22

5- on host2
$ sudo ip maddr 239.2.11.71 dev eth0
$ sudo ip route  add 239.2.11.71 via 192.168.58.75

6- restart gmetad and ganglia-monitor on both host
$ sudo /etc/init.d/gmetad restart
$ sudo /etc/init.d/ganglia-monitor restart 


7- execute gstat, the result is similar below , everything is good
$  gstat
CLUSTER INFORMATION
       Name: unspecified
      Hosts: 2
Gexec Hosts: 0
 Dead Hosts: 0
  Localtime: Sun Aug 13 01:08:16 2017


There are no hosts running gexec at this time



8- to access web frontend, use url below on host1
http://localhost/ganglia
